In the past two weeks, there have been a couple of reports from NetBox clients who have received messages purportedly from "NETBOX ADMINISTRATOR". The gist of the message is that there has been suspicious activity on your email account and you need to login to the special link to confirm the ownership of the email address. One such message looks like this:
Dear Netbox user,
Your Netbox Account is being open from different location in Washington USA as shown in our Data Base. Due to the numerous complains received over time from our internet user, Netbox Admin want you to click or copy the link to your Netbox ID Page and fill the prove of ownership form below;

Account.Warning!!: failure to comply will led to closing of your Netbox Account from our Database system.To avoid spam mails and abuse.
Webmaster Security Management.
NETBOX ADMINISTRATOR.
There are a number of clues that this is not from NetBox, including the way our name is presented and the URL of the website link. Moreover, NetBox does NOT track logins or mail routed through NetBox servers in any detail. We do not attempt to identify where you access your account from nor where your messages originate. We have prided ourselves in providing as much privacy as we can and making sure that any changes are communicated openly to all our community. When there are issues, we always address the individual user based on the information we have on hand - we don't send out form-looking notes like this one when there are possible security issues with an account.
If you have received or do receive a message like this, please send a copy to us at NBSupport@NetBox.com, our general support address. In any case, do not follow the link and delete it from your mailer. It does not appear to contain any malware or anything harmful in the message itself, but following links in these types of messages can provide the sender with the opportunity to infect your system through the browser.
Please contact us if you have any questions or receive anything you think is suspicious. We thank you for your support and will work to help make your communications safe.
